Clear Horizons represents curating a specific path/plan to chase our dreams. If we are broad with our aspirations, there can be no precise way to achieve them. Unclear paths make the journey vague and unpredictable. Setting clear goals, and detailed steps along the way, can give us confidence to pursue our passions.
INSPIRATION BEHIND THE COLLECTION
Years ago, I was asked “what is your end game?” in your art career. I had no answers. My game plan has always been to simply just create and see where it takes me. Although I still do not know that I have a concrete answer to this question, I have begun to be more specific about what I want to paint, who my ideal collectors will be, and who/what I choose to say “yes” to (and almost as importantly, who/what I say “no” to). I have come to learn that the more I can hone in on my dreams for my art, no matter how scary or uncomfortable it may be to speak them aloud, the more equipped and international I will be when chasing those goals. I poured all my emotions into this collection of abstract landscapes as I wrestle with what all this question means for me. Pulling back from details to see a larger picture. Mixing colors to see what hues I’ve never created before. Creating a vibrant, sometimes hand stitched, horizon to accentuate a focal point. All of these elements and more working together to navigate the unknown journey of chasing your dreams.
