ABOUT THE COLLECTION
Youthful, yet mature. For social occasions, yet accessible for every day. For casual attire, yet high fashion. A metaphor for the classic, yet modern. Bows are woven throughout art and fashion, and not just for little girls, but for adults and in couture fashion alike. Many things in our lives can become unwound and undone, and bows, to me, are symbolic of so many things, but mostly that we can take the unraveled and untied and put them back together again to make something beautiful.
INSPIRATION BEHIND THE COLLECTION
I have always been inspired by bows (an embellishments) of all kinds. As a kid, I remember taking the bows out of my hair so I could look at them and sketch them. I am so enthralled with their many shapes, folds, textures, shadows, and highlights. I feel like bows transcend age and fashion. They are for the young and old, casual and couture and because of that, allows so many people to connect with the subject. And plus, I just really really really wanted to paint some bows!
